About Us

About Us

At Impact Makers Action Network (IMAN), we don’t just follow the traditional path of a non-profit organization. We transcend convention by embracing the power of Human-Centered Design and the Collective Impact Model. Founded in 2017 and formally initiating our projects in 2019, IMAN is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) and holds Non-Profit Organization (NPO) status, certified by the Department of Social Development.

Our approach to community development is grounded in two powerful principles: Human-Centered Design and the Collective Impact Model. These philosophies guide everything we do and ensure that our efforts are not only well-intentioned but also profoundly effective.

Human-Centered Design:

At IMAN, we place humanity at the heart of our endeavours. Our Human-Centered Design approach means that we meticulously understand the unique needs, aspirations, and challenges faced by the individuals and communities we serve. This approach ensures that our initiatives are deeply relevant and impactful.

We believe that by engaging directly with the people we aim to support, we can co-create solutions that genuinely resonate with their lived experiences. It’s a process of empathy, ideation, and iteration that results in projects that are not only impactful but also sustainable and enduring.

Collective Impact Model:

IMAN operates on the principle of Collective Impact, recognizing that the most significant social challenges require collective effort. In this model, we collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including communities, partners, and individuals, to create a symphony of coordinated actions.

Collective Impact is about aligning resources, expertise, and passion to address complex issues systematically. It emphasizes collaboration over competition and seeks to break down silos that often hinder progress. By working collectively, we amplify our impact, magnifying the positive change we bring to our communities.

Our mission is to uplift, empower, and nurture the well-being of our local communities. We accomplish this through a portfolio of projects and initiatives designed to address critical needs, from mitigating hunger to bolstering educational support. We also extend a compassionate hand during challenging times, such as providing assistance during funerals.

IMAN’s journey commenced with a profound commitment to addressing food insecurity, a pressing concern exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. This initial focus on food security served as our entry point into the communities we now serve.
